What can I expect from Hoancoming?

Hoancoming features live music, a boat parade, and a drone and light show synced to the lights on the Hoan Bridge that will be visible from both water and land.

Boaters can enjoy the event from the confluence of the Milwaukee River and Lake Michigan, near the Hoan Bridge.

Those attending on land can join in on the celebration from the adjacent Riverwalk or from other viewing areas at locations such as Boone & Crockett, Milwaukee’s Pierhead Lighthouse, and more.

What is the date and time of Hoancoming?

Hoancoming will take place on Thursday, September 18, 2025

There will be a Boat Parade starting at 6:00 PM CST. 

The Hoan Bridge Drone and Light Show will take place at 7:45 PM CST.

Where can I watch the drone and light show?

Hoancoming’s drone and light show is free to view and can be seen from a variety of different areas throughout the city. Premium viewing locations have been marked on our official map and can be seen on our Homepage.

 Is registration required?

Community members are invited to participate by viewing the drone and light show at a premium viewing location or by joining the boat parade on the Milwaukee River.

How can I listen to the drone and light show?

Hoancoming’s drone and light show is free to view and can be seen from a variety of areas throughout the city. The audio from the show will be synced to a stream by our partners at 88.9 Radio Milwaukee.

If the location you are viewing from does not provide audio, be sure to download the 88.9 Radio Milwaukee app for the full experience.

Is there a cost to attend?

While there is no official cost to view the drone and light show, there are a variety of ways that community members can experience the event.

Is parking available?

Hoancoming does not have any official designated parking, however our premium viewing locations may have parking available as a part of their activation(s).

Is the event family-friendly?

Yes, community members of all ages are welcome at Hoancoming! For families who are interested in participating in a Hoancoming premium viewing experience, we recommend Family Friendly Viewing Area at Milwaukee County Boat Launch presented by Majic Productions.
